Civic Matters: Historic Preservation Month

Event Details
Celebrate Historic Preservation Month with us at Applewood!

Drop in anytime 1–4 p.m. for a behind-the-scenes look into our recently finished window restoration project. Window care is a critical piece of preserving historical structures like the home at Applewood. Using before and after photos, as well as samples from our archive, we’ll give you insider tips and walk through the steps we took to keep Applewood’s windows in good shape. You’ll even get a peek at historical documents from 1915, including a catalog with descriptions of the materials used at Applewood.

The enduring legacy of Charles Stewart and Ruth Mott is their extraordinary commitment to civic participation. From preserving our history to volunteering in community, we’ll demonstrate ways that anyone can engage in civic life. This year’s topics are focused on historic preservation and getting involved in the community where you live.

Drop in to Civic Matters anytime from 1–4 p.m. on the first and third Fridays of the month through October. Admission and activities at Applewood are always free!
