FLINT, Michigan – Charles Alexander Mott Meynet has been elected to the Ruth Mott Foundation Board of Trustees, continuing the Mott family’s long tradition of philanthropy in the city of Flint.
Meynet, 26, had previously served as Board Observer since 2015. He is the great-grandson of the late C.S. and Ruth Rawlings Mott, and the grandson of Board Chair Maryanne Mott, who said his drive and mission-focused mindset will enhance the Board of Trustees.
“Over the past several years, Charles has demonstrated a keen understanding of our efforts to promote community vitality,” Mott said. “I am thrilled that we as a Board will continue to benefit from his fresh perspective and his dedication to having an impact in north Flint.”
The 2014 Chapman University graduate holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Economics. He is pursuing his master’s degree in Business Administration and is currently based in San Francisco as a Senior Product Manager at Salesforce on the Customer Experience team.
Meynet’s enthusiasm for philanthropy was sparked in college and continued to grow as he learned more about Flint, he said.
Drawing on his background in technology, Meynet has been a strong advocate for the organization’s new Community Dashboard, an online tool that displays a variety of data about north Flint related to the Foundation’s priority areas of youth, public safety, economic opportunity and neighborhoods.
His philanthropic interests include economic development, impact investing and education.
“I am honored to join the Board of Trustees and I look forward to continuing to serve the Foundation and its hometown of Flint,” he said.
